Good evening!
Last week I dropped a poem from the POV of my FMC (peep Saturn if you missed it). This week I am posting one from the POV of my MMC. Please enjoy!

Things That Stay
Sand slipping though
the neck of an hourglass.
Water running through,
fingers clasped.
The first morning dew,
clinging to an early spring grass.
Blind hope for tomorrows
we haven’t been given.
Sand on beaches
never-ending.
Salt in ocean water,
glinting.
I felt you leaving,
before you said goodbye.
I tried to fancy you
a star in the sky.
And maybe you were,
but just the kind that streaks by.
And so,
I couldn’t keep you.
No matter how hard I tried.
Some things
stay.
And then
there
is
you.
I’ve really been trying to push myself with writing lately and poetry is still very uncomfortable for me simply because it isn’t what I’m used to writing and it doesn’t come naturally for me.
I’d like to complete the series of a poem from the POV of each of my four main characters, then I think I’ve decided to move on to alternating between short stories and poems on Wednesdays and author updates on Sundays.
For the short stories, I have an idea in mind for the first one that I’ll explain when it rolls around. Then I’m thinking about getting a set if dice with writing prompts and just having some fun with it.
Anyway, that’s all I have for you today, I hope you enjoyed this little poem by my MMC.
With love and poetry.
