Welcome! It’s me, that one girl who writes. Also known as Jesse Masters.
I am an aspiring author currently in the querying trenches. My main focus is romantic suspense, but I do occasionally wander into other genres when a story refuses to stay in its lane.
Thanks for reading!
The first manuscript I ever wrote (in its entirety) was a dystopian novel, meant to be the first in a trilogy. That project is shelved for the time being, but it’ll always be my baby. It was in writing that book that I reignited a spark for writing that had been lying dormant for years.
Technically though, the first manuscript I ever started was a YA novel I wrote with pencil in a spiral notebook during high school. It is tucked safely away inside a storage box somewhere awaiting the day I stumble across it again. Who knows, maybe I’ll even finish it!
I made myself a vow that 2026 will be the year I go all in on starting my writing career, and what better way to do that than by starting a blog documenting the journey?
Here, I want to talk about:
- Why I love writing
- Why I am drawn to specific genres
- The messy truth about querying your debut novel
- The stories that made me fall in love with writing in the first place
And of course, there will be book recommendations from time to time!
If you made it this far, I’m so happy you’re here. I can’t wait to share more stories, thoughts, and probably a bit of chaos along the way.
We’re just getting started.
With love and a tiny bit of spooky vibes,
