Happy Sunday!
As promised, my weekly update on the writing/publishing journey.

On the Get Ready With Me front, I have ten total queries still outstanding—one being the full request I got from a Threads pitch event.
After weeks of silence, I received two rejections this weekend. One I sent so long ago I forgot all about it. I think I have grown numb to the rejections now because when I saw the notifications pop up on my phone I just took a deep breath and opened the emails, knowing full well they would be rejections.
Alas, we keep plugging ahead.
I have written zero words this week on my new WIP. My day job has been very busy, which is leaving me feeling tapped out and uninspired by the time I get an hour or two that could be used for writing.
But that’s ok, I’ll get back to it this week.
On the social media front, my accounts have been continuing to grow. I finally hit one thousand on Instagram this week, which felt like a huge accomplishment. My goals for April were as follows:
Instagram: 1000 (1,117 at the time of writing this)
TikTok: 1000 (1,123 at the time of writing this)
Threads: 500 (611 at the time of writing this)
Substack: 25—after blowing past this within the first couple of weeks of April I increased this goal to 50 and still blew past it! (69 at the time of writing this)
As my day job is picking up, I plan to set my sights a little lower for May knowing that I won’t have the capacity to pour into posting the way I have in April. So, just to put things in writing so I can’t change my mind later, here are my May goals:
Instagram: 1500
TikTok: 1500
Threads: 1000
Substack: 100
Some of those might still be lofty but I’m telling myself it’s ok if I don’t quite hit them all.
I’m just a girl.
Hopefully next week I’ll have a few more exciting updates on the querying front, but for now this is all I have to share.
With love and a couple silly little updates,
