Happy Thursday!
I forgot to post my usual weekly update on Sunday, but I also didn’t have much to update on until today anyway.
My current work in progress and hyperfixation, White Rabbit, is moving right along. I’d say I’m within ten thousand words or so of being finished with the first draft! I am LOVING this one, but I am struggling to find the balance of what to share on this new project vs what to share on Get Ready With Me. For now, I’m just sharing a mix of the two, so hopefully my social media posts aren’t too all over the place.
Speaking of Get Ready With Me, this is where the real update comes in. A couple of weeks ago, the first page of my manuscript was selected as a winner of a writing contest I entered and the prize was a five-page critique by the literary agent who judged the contest. I won’t share her entire email, but I did want to insert a couple of snippets below:

She gave some very positive feedback, and ultimately ended the email by inviting me to query her! So, I will be combing through my query package once again, preparing to send that out. I have paused sending new querying on Get Ready With Me while it undergoes developmental edits to make sure it is the strongest manuscript it can be, however, given that this was entered into the contest prior to that and I haven’t begun development edits yet, I am going to go ahead and query her per her invitation.
As always when I send a new query, I am trying to remain cautiously optimistic, but I am excited to get it sent out to her and I hope she enjoys the rest of the manuscript as much as she enjoyed the first five pages, and maybe she’ll even want to see the whole thing!
With love and a new hyperfixation,
